MUM,I THINK I'VE GOT A COLD
Mum, I think I've got a cold
Or maybe it's the flu
I don't think I should go to school
I really don't, do you?

I'm sure I've got a temperature
My forehead feels quite hot
And if you look beneath my hair
I'm sure there's lots of spots

My skin feels very clamy
My hands are cold as ice
And the lump that's in my nostril
Just isn't very nice

So can I stay off school Mum?
To heal my aches and pains
Then if I feel OK next week
I'll go to school again

What's that you say? I'm going!!
You don't believe a word
You say that you are sceptical
Of all you've seen and heard

I know that I've got English Lit
Physics and PE
Latin, French and Metalwork
Maths and Chemistry

But I think you are mistaken
Your attitude is cruel
You stand with pointed finger saying
"Get yourself to school"

So I guess I'd better get my coat
Then tidy up my hair
But sending me on such a day
Just isn't very FAIR!!!!!
