GRANNY AND JEREMIAH
My Granny lives at the sea-side
In a house that's quite near the shore
When you get a high tide in the Spring-time
The waves come right up to her door

It is said when the Moon's at it's highest
And the wind is a whistling gale
If she has finished her knitting, then
Gran goes for a ride on a whale

Now the whale he is called Jeremiah
He normally lives in the deep
Where there's seaweed and boxes of treasure
And a hotel for mermaids to sleep

One time when the wind was a-howling
Jeremiah called round for the day
He said,"If you're really not busy
Then we'll go for a trip round the bay"

"Yes please" said Gran,"Oh how exciting"
Just think of the wonderful tale
That I'll tell to all my grand-children
How I went for a ride on a whale

So Gran put on her old flying helmet
Her scarf and a bright yellow mac
With her goggles fixed firmly around her
She lept up upon the whale's back

"Hold tight Gran" said big Jeremiah
And he gave a quick flick of his tail
Then slowly they moved off from Gran's house
Right into the teeth of the gale

Out on the waves they went sailing
Both of them laughing with glee
'Till at last Jeremiah said,"I must go home
It's time for my dinner, you see"

So he dropped Gran off right on her door-step
Then waved her good-bye with his tail
Gran took off her goggles and said,"Cheerio"
To her friend Jeremiah the Whale

Back went my Gran to her kniting
She's made Jeremiah a hat
Which he wears when he's out on the ocean
Now what do you all think of that

So that is the end of my story
I hope that you all liked the tale
Of my Granny who lives at the sea-side
And her friend, Jeremiah the Whale
